What we want to achieve
Covid set us back significantly. Now we are raising £10 million — to fix what was neglected, and to do far more for the people who come here. This is what we are planning.

A new home for Central Hall's story
Serving more people, in more ways
Central Hall Westminster is already a place where people come for conferences, concerts and graduations; where a global congregation gathers to worship; where families in crisis find support through the St Vincent's Family Project. Our £10 million capital programme is about expanding and deepening all of that — not just fixing the building.
Westminster is a borough of sharp contrasts. It hosts some of the most powerful institutions in the country, yet 26% of its children live in poverty and around 2,600 people sleep rough on its streets over the course of a year. We believe Central Hall should be an even more active force for good in the heart of that reality.

We're not just restoring a building. We're reinvesting in everything it makes possible.
Our capital programme
A drop-in centre for those in need
Westminster has deep pockets of deprivation hidden behind its iconic landmarks. We want to create a welcoming, well-resourced drop-in space where people in immediate need — homeless individuals, families in crisis, those facing food poverty — can find help, warmth and support.
A new Heritage Visitor Centre
Around the corner, the Houses of Parliament attract hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Central Hall has an equally extraordinary story to tell — from John Wesley to the first United Nations Assembly — and we're determined to tell it, through a professionally designed visitor offer and an accredited museum.
A digital heritage platform
Making our archive and collections accessible online to the global Methodist community — 80 million strong — with digitised records, guided trails and resources for schools and faith communities worldwide.
Learning and community programmes
Expanding our educational offer for schools, universities and community groups, drawing on the building's remarkable history to inspire new audiences.
Essential building works
Covid deferred years of planned maintenance. Our programme addresses the backlog — roof, infrastructure, accessibility and sustainability — so the building can keep serving people safely for generations to come.
Museum accreditation
The Trust is working towards Arts Council England Museum Accreditation by 2032 — the recognised standard confirming that collections are cared for, managed and made accessible to the highest professional standards.
Accreditation will unlock significant grant funding, strengthen our case with major donors and confirm Central Hall's status as a destination of real international heritage significance.
How you can help
We hope to win support from heritage, trust and foundation funders, alongside generous individuals, Methodist connexional grants — and people like you, who care about a place like this at the heart of London.
